    1) What are THREE (3) differences between Common Sense and The Declaration of Independence?

The three differences between Common Sense and The Declaration of Independence is that Common was written by one person-Thomas Paine- while the Declaration of Independence had a committee of five people- Thomas Jefferson, Roger Sherman, Benjamin Franklin, Robert R. Livingston and John Adams- who came up with the ideas and and words but had Thomas Jefferson craft them. Another difference was Common Sense was a book voicing out an opinion that Paine felt that made people agree and more into the move to Independence, while The Declaration of Independence was an actual move for America to become Independent from Britain and started a war. Lastly, in Common Sense, Paine mocked the idea that Britain should rule America and that they caused harm to them while the Declaration of Independence written about Britain’s abuses to them in a matter of fact way.

    2) What are TWO (2) similarities?

Two similarities were that both documents talked about Independence and the idea of the democracy system instead of monarchy.

Common sense also included a description of the government that should be formed after separating from Britain while the declaration did not. 7. 1) One difference is who wrote which one T.P wrote Common Sense and T.J wrote the D of I. The second is that Thomas Paine wanted peace but knew it made no sense as the colonist of New England were being killed. Lastly Thomas Jefferson lived in the state longer that Thomas Paine. Thomas Paine was an immigrant from Britain.

    2) Thomas Paine wrote Common Sense in the passage he explained how no one should be ruled by a king. He believed there was only harm being brought to the colony from the British. He wanted each colony to have equal parts in the representative democracy. The Declaration of Independence; in which Thomas Jefferson wrote, explained the same thing on how the power should be within the hands of the people and now based around a king

  14. Three differences is that one, the Common Sense document was written by one person and the Declaration of Independence was written by a select group. Next, the Common Sense Thomas Paine touched on topics that indeed he didn’t agree with, while the DOI was like a mending document.

Similarities would be that both documents have the same basic foundation of the reason for the documents to be written.
