  1. 1.) according to zinn the conflict was mainly about two things, slavery and cotton tariff.
    2.) the regulator movement was a rebellion by slaveholders against the attempts by liberal elements to make the conditions less harsh.
    3.) the Boston Massacre, the proclamation line crisis, and May Fourth Movement.
    4.) the element of the proclamation might because the wealth and development of the system can create the freedom within the independence.

  2. 1. According to Zinn and following the timeline for the American revolution, the conflict between Britain and the American colonist evolved from taxation

    2.The Regulator movement was a "class-conscious white farmers in the west who attempted to democratize local government in their respective counties".

    3 . It states in the passage "Gage's comment suggests that leaders of the movement against the Stamp Act had instigated crowd action, but then became frightened by the thought that it might be directed against their wealth, too".

    4. The DOI was not on the behalf of the united people. The DOI was written for white men to advance economically off the backs of slaves. The key element that Zin can use for the DOI is "we hold these truths to be self evident, that all MEN are created equal".
    This statement in itself proves which target the founding fathers directed its "unalienable rights" to!

    The elements of the Stamp Act crisis that made colonial elites frightened would be the requirement that businesses submit audits by the Stamp Tax Authority to ensure they had paid their fair share.

  6. 1. According to Zinn, what was the essence of the conflict between Britain and the American colonies?

    The essence of the conflict between Britain and the American colonies was about many different things like the various taxation Britain wanted the colonies to pay, the Line of Proclamation of 1763, their stationing of the troops, the Boston Massacre, the closing of the Boston port, dissolution of the Massachusetts legislature but it was after the military clash at Lexington and Concord that the Continental Congress decided on separation. Each one of this problems cause all of colonies to reach a breaking point and decide to leave Britain.

    2. What was the Regulator Movement and what was the result?

    The Regulator Movement was a powerful organized movement as Zinn states of poor and oppressed white farmers going against the wealthy and corrupt officials to try to democratize local government in their respective counties. As a result of the movement the assembly passed some mild reform legislation but also an act “to prevent riots and tumult’s,” plus, governor prepared to crush them militarily due to all their violent riots.

    3. What elements of the Stamp Act crisis made the colonial elites "frightened"?

    Some elements of the Stamp crisis that made the colonial elites “frightened” was that the poor was leading mobs to destroy so me of the elites houses. In one of the elites homes, they smashed up Thomas Hutchinson home with axes, drank his wine in his wine cellar, and looted the house of its furniture and other objects. It was one of those moments in which fury against the rich went further than the leaders wanted because they were trying to get everybody together on the same page so that they could rebel against Great Britain.

    Key elements in the Declaration of Independence that might support Zinn’s assertion is in the opening line it states “When in the Course of human events , it becomes necessary for one to dissolve the political bands...they should declare the causes...” then in the second paragraph it includes the statement that all men are created equal, have human rights and so on.

    There were a variety of issues, but the main one was taxation, and the minor one was slavery. Then came issues about the proclamation line.

    2. What was the Regulator Movement and what was the result?

    The regulators movement was a clash between the poor and the wealthy. Their main focus was better treatment of slaves. The end result was a failure and really didn't create much change

    3. What elements of the Stamp Act crisis made the colonial elites "frightened"?

    The element that made the colonial elite frightened was the fact that they were getting targeted by the poor. Their house and property were getting destroyed. They felt that they would face the blunt of the consequences

    4. Zinn suggests that the Declaration of Independence contributed to the "myth of the Revolution - that it was on behalf of a united people" What key elements in the Declaration of Independence might support Zinn's assertion?

    The myth of revolution was supported by the concept that all men are created equal, but that is hilarious considering the fact that slaves were not one such group of men being applied the same rights.

    There was a plethora of issues going on between the British and the Colonists but the most important ones were the Proclamation Line, taxation, and slavery.

    2. What was the Regulator Movement and what was the result?

    The Regulator Movement Originated in North Carolina and it was basically a feud between the rich and the poor. The Regulators wanted better treatment of oppressed people, especially slaves, and it failed tragically because it made no change.

    3. What elements of the Stamp Act crisis made the colonial elites "frightened"?

    The elements that made the Colonists so "frightened" were the fact that the tax will come fro their wealth and now they pay a fair share of their wealth to the crown just to survive.

    4. Zinn suggests that the Declaration of Independence contributed to the "myth of the Revolution - that it was on behalf of a united people" What key elements in the Declaration of Independence might support Zinn's assertion?

    According to Zinn, the key elements that support his assertion was the fact that the DOI said that all men are created equal but that only included wealthy white men because it was written by wealthy white men.

    The Regulator Movement was the land owner and slave owners against the poor and oppressed

    What frightened them was they knew that that in the stamp act they would all have to pay their part

    The key element that supports was that the Declaration of Independence said that all men were equal and that they deserve say in the British parliament
