  1. 1) Why does Turner answer, in response to a question, "Was not Christ crucified?"

Nat answers in such a way to indirectly but effectively convey his conviction of committing a "act of god". He knows that many people like Thomas will listens to those who uses biblical references because it shows education and Nat knew that to minimize the "forgery of his testimony", this was one of the best ways to do so.
    2) What reasons does Turner give for other slaves joining his rebellion?

Turner told many slave that there were several signs of an aminous event was going to take place and showed them signs of this event such as comparing the symbols on the blood to that of the figures he saw in heaven.

  2. 1) Why does Turner answer, in response to a question, "Was not Christ crucified?"

Turner responded that way because he knows Christ died for our sins and now he is trying to justify Christ being crucified through the act of the rebellion. He wants T. Gray and historians to understand how significant Christ being crucified was as is the rebellion is, for slaves to sacrifice themselves to get rid of all the sins that were placed upon them by their masters.

    2) What reasons does Turner give for other slaves joining his rebellion?

The Spirit had warned him continuously with multiple signs of bloodshed and black and white angels. Indicating this was the slave's time to fight for their liberty.

  3. 1) Why does Turner answer, in response to a question, "Was not Christ crucified?"

Turner answers in a response to a question, ''Was not Christ crucified'' because he is using Christ death which was a sacrifice for mankind to make the killing of Christ through rebellion acceptable. He knows that people like Thomas will listen to educational biblical refrences, so he uses that to explain that slave rebellion was a sacrifice to their master's sins.

    2) What reasons does Turner give for other slaves joining his rebellion?

Turner uses the spirit realm showing he signs of bloodshed, he visison of black and white angels, and other signs of event as reasons for other slaves jining his rebellion.

  4. Why does Turner answer, in response to a question, "Was not Christ crucified?"

Nat Turner responded this way because he believed that he was chosen for that. He knew that they were in fact killing him but like Jesus he was dying for a greater cause.

What reasons does Turner give for other slaves joining his rebellion?

He said that one person will follow another person. So when one person was going out of their way to seek their freedom another person would follow them.

  6. 1) Why does Turner answer, in response to a question, "Was not Christ crucified?"

When Christ died on the cross for all of mankind and saved humanity he was called to that, and accused of doing crimes he has never committed yet he followed through so we wouldn't have to live in sin. For Nat, this shows an act of rebellion and that he has been chosen by God to protect.

Hesaw a vision that revealed his destiny. The vision included black and white figures at war with one another.
